Goo Goo Dolls - 4/11/2010

I don't even know where to begin with this concert! Beyond amazing & any expectations I had for sure!

We arrived at the venue early to check it out & to see where we could possibly eat dinner. Before anything I spotted the tour buses & was surprised that they were out in the open. I made a mental note to check back later after the show. Here's a few pictures of when we found the buses.

Soon we made it into the venue & found our seats. I was surprised for being on the balcony we were able to see the stage quite well. The opening band "The Rocket Summer" began. They weren't bad but not really my taste in music. Here's a few photos.

Before we knew it the music began for the Goo Goo Dolls. Words can't even describe how they opened the show. I keep saying that it was amazing & that's really all I can say because it truly was! They played all their hits & a few others. Here's some photos.

After the show was when the fun began. People were waiting by the buses so my friend Amanda & I did just that. Don't ask how I got to the front of the crowd of people but we did. We watched as their set was loaded onto different trailers & suddenly the Goo Goo Dolls drummer, Mike came out to greet us. I was surprised because it didn't take a while at all. He took as many pictures as he could & signed some items before going back on the bus. (See pictures below.) Before we knew it the bus pulled out & we were left standing there. Before we left we took pictures by their other bus & decided on a midnight snack of McDonalds.

On our way home we were traveling the interstate eating our food when we happened to come across a tour bus. Yes it really was the Goo Goo Dolls bus! I did take video & I wil upload it as soon as I have time. Let's just say I was freaking out! Here's a picture I tried to take. It didn't come out good but you can see there is a bus there.

All in all I give The Rocket Summer a tumbs up. They need to get their act together a little bit but they're new.

I give the Goo Goo Dolls two thumbs up & a fuck yea! They were beyond amazing & I really can't wait until I can see them again!

A Few Notes From Bristol: Truex, Patrick, Kahne, Busch

Here's a few notes from this weekend in Bristol.

Ryan Truex & Danica Patrick:
I'm sure everyone is aware of the incident between Ryan Truex & Danica Patrick that happened in the Nationwide race this weekend at Bristol. Incase you missed it I'll include a video at the end of this blog. First I'd like to say that I don't think it is Truex's fault. From what I seen Danica came up on the track & Truex was there. She clipped the rear of his car & when she corrected it, ended up overcorrecting therefore spinning out. After that she had to make a scene & "call" Truex out. I have to give Ryan Truex credit for taking the blame for something that it looks like he did not do. Also I think Danica could've handled the situation better. She caused unnecessary drama with some of her actions. I am team Ryan Truex all the way!

Kasey Kahne finished 2nd in the Nationwide race at Bristol:

Being a Kasey Kahne fan I am happy that he finished 2nd. If there were a few more laps & less lapped traffic I think Kasey could've caught Kyle & passed him. In the end though Kasey needed a good finish. He deserved a win but sometimes you can't always get a win.

Kyle Busch Show:
As many of you know Kyle sweeped Bristol again. I am happy for him. He had good equipment & the crew did excellent on the pit stops. There really isn't much to say other than we are looking at a championship contender.

Look for more entries throughout the week!

As promised the Ryan Truex & Danica Patrick video:

Bristol Driver Intro Songs - My Opinion

It's been a while since I wrote anything NASCAR for public use so I apologize if this isn't how everyone would like it. I just want to give my opinion on the driver's intro songs for Bristol.

As many know I am a huge rock fan. No worries hip hop, pop, & country lovers I will include my opinions on those songs too! I won't leave anyone out of this entertaining blog!

Let us start from the beginning as listed on SBNation.com.

Marcos Ambrose - Fuel by Metallica...
Metallica is awesome. I didn't know he'd actually pick something that I would guess he'd never listen too! Happy to see Metallica is on the list though especially from our Aussie friend!

AJ Allmendinger - Turn Around by Flo Rida...
Flo Rida for Allmendinger doesn't so much surprise me as I'd thought. I guess whatever floats his boat. No other comments on this.

Trevor Bayne - (Secret until Sunday)...
Trevor, why the wait?! No fun in waiting especially for us bloggers!

Greg Biffle - I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas...
I really don't know what Greg was thinking while picking this. It is a good song but it doesn't strike me as a "here I am ready to rock your world" type of song. I want something to get my attention.

Dave Blaney - Ohio State University fight song...
March Madness much? I'm more of a UNC fan but to each his own. Rep your team no matter what you do!

Clint Bowyer - Theme from "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"...
Eh, not too much to say here. Clint makes me wonder sometimes in these choices.

Jeff Burton - Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses...
Awesome pick! Have to love the classic rock that was thrown in here. Also I think this song is an overall perfect song for Bristol! It certainly is a jungle in itself.

Kurt Busch - One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer by George Thorogood...
Honestly can't say I heard it before. As I said before, whatever floats your boat.

Kyle Busch - Rowdy Busch by Raytona 500...
Typical Kyle fashion! Can't wait to see how the crowd reacts to this!

Landon Cassill - Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley...
What were you thinking? Landon, you're awesome but no.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. - (Secret until Sunday)...
Again no fun here.

Carl Edwards - Theme from Cheers...
Well... It could be worse. I really don't know what drivers were thinking while choosing some of these.

David Gilliland - Wild Side by Motley Crue
Again awesome with the classic rock here! Gilly also knows that this race is about to get wild!

Jeff Gordon - I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty
Classic for sure. Awesome to see.

Robby Gordon - TBD...
NO FUN!

Denny Hamlin - Shipping Up To Boston by Dropkick Murphys...
First off, Denny listens to them?! Second I heard this song too much in the past few weeks but it is a fun song to have playing.

Kevin Harvick - Back In Black by AC/DC...
KHarv listens to them? Never knew that. I guess he's trying to say he's going to be back... in black.

Jimmie Johnson - (Secret until Sunday. Being selected by Brian Vickers)...
I am beyond interested in seeing what Brian picks!

Kasey Kahne - A Country Boy Can Survive by Hank Williams Jr. ...
Kasey is a country boy & I'd never expect something else from him. This song is okay but I'd vote for "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" by Big & Rich instead.

Matt Kenseth - Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold...
ESTATIC! I didn't even know Matt liked Avenged but this made me respect him more! If you never heard this song look it up! It will for sure get people's attention! I wish I was in Bristol just to hear this blasting!

Brad Keselowski - TBD...
Not fun. Why are drivers so boring sometimes?

Travis Kvapil - Song 2 by Blur...
First thought, WHOOOHOOOO! This will gain attention but it's a 90's song. What can you do sometimes?!

Bobby Labonte - God Bless Texas by Little Texas...
Bobby, we're not in Texas. That's all I have to say about that.

Andy Lally - Beat You Down by Downstait...
Never heard of this band or song. Not even interested in looking it up so no opinion on it.

Joey Logano - Opposite of Adults by Chiddy Bang...
Why did you not choose Avenged like I told you to?! Avenged would've screamed "I AM HERE!" Especially if you chose the song "Scream"!

Mark Martin - (Secret until Sunday)
Mark, why don't you want us to know?!

Michael McDowell - I Saw The Light by David Crowder Band...
No idea & didn't look it up. You are lucky for that.

Jamie McMurry - Burn It To The Ground by Nickelback...
Awesome song! Totally will get people pumped!

Casey Mears - Regulate by Warren G...
I guess in a way it'll gain attention. As I said before I'm more into the loud in your face songs.

Paul Menard - Concrete Jungle by Black Label Society...
Paul, you surprised me with this! For sure an attention grabber!

Juan Pablo Montoya - Ladies And Gentleman by Saliva...
First thought was wow, he picked rock. Second was this song is over used for events like these but it is an awesome song.

Joe Nemechek - TBD...
I'm getting sick of these! Pick a song!

Ryan Newman - Theme to "Dukes of Hazzard"...
To each his own.

David Regan - "No More Mr. Nice Guy by Alice Cooper...
Surprise, surprise. Didn't think I'd see this at all! Is this a sign of things to come on the track from David?!

Tony Raines - TBD...
Pick a song so I can give my opinion! Not that complicated!

David Reutimann - Pretty Fly For A White Guy by The Offspring...
Oh my, he really did pick this?! Props for picking it but I beg to differ on Reuti being fly at the moment.

Dennis Setzer - TBD...
See above comments for the non-songs.

Regan Smith - Welcome to the Family by Avenged Sevenfold...
Regan, you get a zillion gold stars for this! You picked them before & you keep picking them! You for sure are apart of the family foREVer! Now only if we can get a huge deathbat on your car next.

Tony Stewart - Bawitaba by Kid Rock...
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Smoke doesn't strike me as Kid Rock though. He needs something like Disturbed! Especially after he did so well in practice.

Martin Truex Jr. - Homeboy by Eric Church...
I'm surprised Kasey didn't pick this. I guess there's nothing much other than that to say.

Brian Vickers - (Secret until Sunday. Being selected by Jimmie Johnson)...
Can't wait to see this! It also makes me wonder if they lost bets to each other or something.

JJ Yeley - TBD...
Last one but can you please chose a song?!

I hope you liked my little opinion blog here. I'm looking forward to more of these blogs! Maybe one after the weekend is over about the whole Bristol weekend? Possibly so look for a link to it!

Breaking Ben - 3/21/2010

The whole day was awesome to put it simply. I never got around to really write about my experience so be prepared for the long version here!

We met up at my friend Amanda’s house. Somehow we all pilled into my friend Lindsey’s car. (See picture below.) Still to this day I have no idea how we managed to do that! The ride there was filled with fun & laughter as you’d expect. We stopped for dinner at Red Robin where I refused to get out of the car until they got out of the otherside because I figured I’d die on my way out. After we ate we killed time at a mall then headed over to the venue.

Since it was crazy beautiful out for March; almost 70 to be exact we were roasting in the car & decided to roll the windows down. That helped until t-shirt guy & company kept coming over to try to sell us shirts. Before we knew it it was time to get out of the car. I was in an awkward position to move. (See picture below.) Somehow I did a ninja move out of the car. I have never been that close to my best friends ever in my life & I love them but I don’t want to try that anytime soon!

Once we were inside & seated we took some pictures. Here’s one of Thousand Foot Krutch.

(Sorry it’s so blurry!)

Here’s one of Red.

Here’s one of 10 Years.

Lastly, here’s some pictures of Breaking Ben since we’re doing pictures.

Thousand Foot Krutch was better than I expected. I give those guys a thumbs up for their performance even though during some songs we had a hard time hearing them.

Red was good also. They definitely gave more than I expected them too. I’d love to see them again. Two thumbs up for them.

10 Years was amazing. Honestly, I had no idea they could rock out as hard as they did! Love, love, love to see them again. What I thought was awesome was when Jesse Hasek, their singer came out with beer & toasted to the crowd. Two thumbs up & a hell yea for them!

Lastly, Breaking Ben completely blew me away! Ben was sick that night but he gave it his all & sounded amazing. They covered Aerosmith’s “Dream On” & done a wonderful job. Two thumbs up & a fuck yea for them!

Getting out of the venue was interesting. We sat in the car for a good amount of time. We were going to try to get by the buses but seeing how there’s a 6 foot fence along with barbed wire around the whole bus area, it was a no go. The whole time was fun since we yelled for t-shirt guy & Lindsey’s boyfriend hung out the window to “check on traffic.”

I’d recommend people to see any of these bands expecially Breaking Ben. They were amazing!

Under Construction.

Redoing this whole blog. Look for different features including my concert experiences, nascar reviews, race experiences, personal things, & whatever else I may add. Tumblr is becoming very crowded to put it nicely so I'd like to start things up over here again.
