Uproar Fest; Scranton, PA

What can I say about Uproar Fest other than it was one of the best times I ever had in my life?! Let me start from the beginning.

Running on a few hours of sleep I decided to get up at 9:30am. Why? Honestly, I have no clue because we weren’t leaving till after 3. I was listening to our local rock station, 979x, the whole time while getting ready. They have this text thing called the “unfair advantage” & I signed up a long time ago for it because it gives you exclusive inside knowledge on upcoming shows & that. Anywhoo, basically every band was stopping by their broadcast rig at some point during the day. You could meet them & stuff. I got a text saying that A7X was going to be there at 6pm. I was freaking out but eventually calmed down.

We got to the venue at a little after 5. I checked out the merch & then we decided to hit up the broadcast rig to make sure we got to meet A7X. My friend Tiff & I were towards the back of the crowd at first & I noticed a huge opening. Before I knew it we were up front & ready for our boys. While waiting we saw Dan the Body riding around on a motorcycle behind the broadcast rig. Then we figured out that the A7X buses were the only ones not surrounded by the 6 foot fence. That was funny because we were playing who’s coming out of the bus now. We waited & waited for what seemed like eternity. Then we saw Thor. That was a surprised because last I talked to him he wasn’t even going to do security for A7X. Eventually we were told that A7X were running late so we stood around waiting. Finally a car pulled up & Syn jumped out. All we saw was his hair & we began screaming. He did a short interview & most of the crowd left. We stayed & thank god we did. He came around & high fived everyone before going back to the bus. We missed Halestorm but it was worth it.

After our little run in with Syn we made our way to our seats to prepare ourselves for A7X. Stone Sour wasn’t too bad. I personally thought they were better live then on their cd. Before we knew it the black curtain was dropped for A7X. We screamed & watched the very real person jump & hang himself. Nightmare began to play & I screamed. Then Critical Acclaim filled the air & I screamed the lyrics along with my A7X family. The whole A7X set was amazing. We felt the heat from the stage when the flames rose from the graveyard like set. I couldn’t be happier! I almost cried when I saw the backdrop of Johnny, Jimmy, & Syn. It was very emotional & the crowds response surprised me. Before I knew it their set was over & everyone kept chanting “Sevenfold”. Too bad there wasn’t an encore.

Many people left after A7X & didn’t stay around for Disturbed. We stayed for a few songs but left also. We were completely exhausted. Plus we had to climb a hill & steps to get back to the car. Competely not fun at all. Traffic was horrible & I didn’t get home until 1am. I crashed with awesome dreams.

One thing I missed was Jimmy being there. He was there in spirit but I wish I could’ve gotten the chance to see him play.
